Drc...it is a delight - this has been a great year for the Azaleas - but not for the Rhoddies. I know they say they are the same, but my garden tells me different!

Karen - the picture does not do it justice! - this is the only one I have in a pot. I could not plant this in the garden now as the side you can see grows down almost to the floor! You will have a nice collection yourself pretty soon. I don't have an orange one - yours is fabby!
Thanks Paul - trellis looks nice - can't get anything to grow up it though. This year have removed the wisteria, lost another clematis. Have now tried with Ivy - if this doesn't succeed I'll give up!!!!

Is the trellis in the shade, Scottish? Hyrangea petiolaris maybe?

By the way I really like the wee wheelie thing too...

I thought about that Karen - but the space between the hedge and the trellis is just wide enough for Robert (the wee guy who cuts my hedges) to fit in and if the Hydrangea gets too wide it would be a pain. If the ivy fails - I'm going to get the hedge to grow out that wide and let it cover over the trellis. Bad planning 5 years back!

Ah, we've all got bits like that, Scottish...things that seemed the right thing to do at the time...
I'm fighting a daily battle with the ivy on the bridge outside. It creeps into my garden at an alarming rate. :( Have you thought about a virginia creeper? Looks nice in autumn too...until the leaves fall off.
