The predominant plant in this picture is Thalictrum pubescens...Tall Meadow Rue, or Muskrat Weed. It likes moist places and grows to 6-8 ft. tall. has a lovely white frothy blossom in June/July and provides just the right amount of cover for the JITP.

Lovely woodland plants Lori. They look so delicate and fragile those leaves. Over here in UK we have had very heavy overnight rain and still raining at 1 pm. No drought now. Never seen the garden looking so lush and top heavy for ages, as we are usually very dry in Essex.

I'm reading your comment, Dorjac, and as I do the rain is coming down, warm and gentle. We had a nasty storm about four days ago with buckets of rain and hail!...our mini drought has ended. We are all so thankful (speaking for my plants). The Thalictrum is a beautiful plant...delicate looking but tall and strong. Will post a pic of it blooming..that's a sight for sore eyes!
