OMG Terry60, that campanula is gorgeous!! Is that a grape vine behind it? Is this a climbing campanula? I want one! What are you feeding it?

Oh dear folks, I have a very sad tale to relate about my campanula. Over the weekend, my lovely neighbour, who helps me with my plants (as you've all probably realised I'm pretty hopeless myself), found that it was infested with millions of all these rather smelly ants, that were slowly eating away all the roots and attacking the vine behind it. So what we thought was the end of season drynes was in fact death caused by these flippin' ants (that, according to my neighbour, have apparently been known to chop away and eventually kill almond trees) . A mass cleaning job has been done and the beasties have been eradicated but it has meant that I have lost all the lower half of my lovely cushion of blue. I was going to take a photo of it but I was so upset, I thought I'd wait till next May and see what happens.... sob sob

So sorry to hear about this ! Glad you found out the problem was though before it was totally destroyed. I was thinking, just tell all your neighbors that you are training your companula into a standard...lol, they will think you're very creative !

Just to reassure you that things were not as drastic as at first appeared - the timely treatment did the trick and although perhaps not as spectacular, it promises to reward us yet again this year - will keep you posted ....!

what a lovely picture, blue waterfall. another one that's gone straight into my faves

Sorry to hear it was got at, but hats off to your neighbour, who spotted the cause before you lost it all - at least you've still got some left, and it'll grow back in time - not much consolation at the moment, I know!

I'm working through your photos from the back, just noticed when this was posted; hope it's back to its former glory now, hope too to see pics of it as I move forward through your pics

I must admit Fran, this beauty of a cushion is my pride and joy - I feel so chuffed when the tourists stop and take their photo in front of it!!!

Let's hope it's not got too damaged with the horrendous weather we've had this year .. will soon know - take care
