New basket of herbs at patio door.

The other basket was all alone and didn't 'go' anywhere...solution, a 'friend'! I was thinking that if the weather stays poor, I could always bring them indoors and enjoy them in the conservatory. The large basket has a small standard English Lavender, a tricolor sage, a pineapple mint and a Lemon Verbena (which I love the smell of).

Lovely you will get all the lovely herby scents as you go in and out;0)

Thanks both. I was trying really hard to convince myself that it is summer! It still feels like winter here. Isn't it weird? One week really hot and the next shivering and heating back on!

They came lined with plastic J. I just put compost straight in.

Looks lovely, now you need sunshine! We do too, rain rain and more rain all day and more tomorrow. Ah well I don't have to water that is the good thing about it all being so wet.

All my favourite herbs......

Go for it J. I don't mind anyone copying anything I do. I do it to everybody else!
Mum, why do you have to be so positive? lol ;) Oh, that's right...it's because we don't have any control over the weather isn't it! :))))
Thanks DD. I was worried that the wind would have removed the lavender, but no, it is still in situ.

so well presented as always - those heucheras pots are amazing!

Thanks Paul. I am really pleased with those heucheras and they are just about to flower as well. They have white flowers which is a pity against that white wall, but hey -ho. I've planted a tree mallow in each pot as well so later in the "summer" there should be purple/pink flowers at a higher level, if they ever grow up above the shade cast by the Heucheras!

btw, the blackbirds are turfing out those red houseleeks all the time now...annoying little critters at times!

Yes - reason I gave up on bark! They look for those Vine weevils so good and bad of them -

great idea with your planting Karen !
8 Jun, 2012
Thanks Paul! They turf out all the bark looking for the slugs that lurk at the edge of the lawn. Great and a nuisance! But their song melts my heart :D
8 Jun, 2012
oh yes - I open window at 5:30 to hear them - another reason for hating winter - no song
8 Jun, 2012
Oh yes, oh, don't remind me....it's November already! lol
8 Jun, 2012
god yes - really can't stand bad summer days - wasting our precious time - then it'll be crappy winter for a lifetime again - there is not one good thing about winter !
8 Jun, 2012
We've booked a week in Canaries for January already....just can't stand Jan/Feb. Hopefully one of these days we will find somewhere to escape to for the winter.....a dream!
8 Jun, 2012
yes! Oct 31st and 14th Feb my 2 most hated days - winter most hated season - January most hated month
8 Jun, 2012
If we ever find a place Paul...you can come and stay! It would do you a power of good to be elsewhere in the winter!
8 Jun, 2012
That'll be great Karen !!!!!
