He/she looks bedraggled but it was pouring rain until just before I got this photo. I took it and went round the corner because I could hear an obviously very anxious parent up on the pergola. The great tits and sparrows fought it out for possession of this particular bird box. It was a new one bought in. My OH only makes blue tit or smaller sized holes in the ones he makes. By the time I came back they had both disappeared.

Fabulous pic Scotsgran, thank goodness Mum gor back with her baby, hope she warmed him up a bit, that's the prob with this rather, the babies get so cold don't they?.....:((

There have been no signs of any feathers flying so I think she has escaped. ??? Yorkshire and Melchisedec do you mean the mother bird.

Sorry Scotsgran - I think we are referring to the unwanted correspondent who was sending inappropriate messages. (At least - I think that's what we're referring to - it's all getting a bit confusing because as soon as a message is flagged, it immediately disappears!))

That's a great shot, SG. You can even see the black stripe down his/her middle. This weather is hard on these babies.
