As some will know, I'm no great lover of Clematis. I've inherited a few in the new garden, most rather boring (and dead now), but this is a gem and is staying!!

I had a very similar one in the previous garden . It was called Voluceau.... don't know if this is the same but it is very similar.

I think the petals are to elongated to be 'niobe'??...and i thought 'Voluceau' was a purply red....But it sure is nice Meanie...:>)

Yep, me too......Niobe! Too dark for Rebecca me thinks.
Pretty colour....not sure if I know of a clem I don't like!!

That is a beauty. The deep colour and the yellow centre makes me think its a Clematis 'Niobe'?
