Well done. Yum yum - we usually have them with bacon and parsley sauce, new potatoes and the fat poured over, how naughty. Mine arent quite ready yet, not long.

Hi Dawn , we have been out today so were thinking about quickness , Tony dug some nice new potatoes up while I picked the beans and some mint ,I had bought a lovely piece of smoked haddock ,it went down very well with some butter on top .... plus Strawberries and cream :o))

Very easily and straight forward Kat , The newly dug potatoes went into a pan with a good handfull of fresh mint ,cook for approx 20 mins ,shell the beans and cook for approx 10 mins at the same time put the Haddock in a flat pan with a mix of water and milk enough to cover the fish plus a good nob of butter poach gently for 10 mins , when cooked serve with a nob of butter on the new potatoes and Haddock ... quick easy and delicious :o)

Hmm. Sounds good. At least now I realised that Haddock is fish. I thought it is some anatomic part of pork ):)))) We usually combine beans with pork or sheep meat.

We might do normally Kat but when the broad beans are new and young like this they are tasty by themselves ...Smoked Haddock is a thick meaty fish yellow when it's been smoked you can also buy it unsmoked in that case it is white ... hardly any bones which is good for eating ... it's our favourite fish ...

Good morning,

I checked what does haddock mean and yes, I must say I know this sort of fish. Although it is probably a very tasty fish prepared by that way, I know only haddock salads with mayonesse. I must say I was fed up by haddock salads at hospital duties, as there wasn´t nothing else in hospital bufet for the whole year round, lol.
Do you like halibut? I love it! And then fresh caught and grilled calamari. Hmm:)))

Haddock is more of a treat here Kat it's expensive , it would be to expensive to serve it in hospitals .. yes I like Halibut I've only ever had calamari in Spain and then thought it was like rubber rings LOL ....

That´s good comparison, Amy, lol. Yes, they taste like that, especially if you buy them frozen. But fresh? I always ate good calamari. But you have to chew more then in case of fish.
Amy, I did not expect haddocks to be served in hospitals :))) Bufet is also for patients, visitors, family members or people on duties for 36 hours. We had regularly trouts for lunch, so why not a haddock...

Sounds a delicious meal, Amy, I will have to put haddock on my shopping list now:)

I like Trout to Kat in fact we like most fish !
Gill if I'm ever ill my OH always cooks me a nice piece of Haddock it's the only thing he can manage by himself it's so easy LOL... I love making a fish pie with haddock ,cod and a piece of Salmon , sometimes they sell odd shaped off cuts for this very reason and call it fish pie mix ...
