I bet you can't resist brushing your hand along there as you walk past? How's the Bee population there? - that hedge is bound to be very popular.

I've never had enough to do much with, Resi. I imagined steeping it, like tea. Bet that would work.

how does one make lavender oil? Is a press required? or is it a decoc of lavender in a base oil? Wonder what it would smell like mixed into a very light olive oil? Going to try the vodka...just to be sure it's fresh? ;-)

i am still researching......

there is a company, (I think it's from the U.S.) called Watkins products and they sell herbal stuff...one thing I saw was Grape Seed Oil...supposed to be light and very healthy...wonder how it would combine with lavender or rose? Rose petal salad oil? mmmmm.....

i did actually have one of those in Mottisfont Gardens, one of the most beautiful and best old, walled rose gardens in the uk - in Hampshire- and it was soooo good.
they made them from their own rose petals.

Will have to look it up. have always longed for a walled garden...never been practical until moving here with all the stone...but I'm too old for that labour.
after talking about lavender water...rose water is delightful stuff...I like it on hot days like this ..fill a spritzer and bathe in the aroma.
