Deutzias don't get very tall, R'smum...not more than about 4', I think - and of course they can be pruned.

Must be your soil in that part of the world there are loads (not R'smum) over 8 foot around the Malmesbury area.

Really? Well, mine are all new-ish, so maybe in a few years' time, they'll get bigger. I wouldn't object! ;-)
