Lovely, we pulled first carrots Sunday, they were delicious, and have our first crop of new Pots to sample for tonights Dinner, great isn't it...I like Mange tout raw as well, nice in salad too...

I love walking passed the veg counters in the supermarket when we have some veg of our own Carole , Young fresh carrots are my favourite Sue delicious with the new potatos , I didn't know if you could freeze Mange Touts knowing we will have more than we need each day I googled it and it says yes you can ,blanch in boiling water for 90secs freezing cold water for 90secs It will be interesting to see if they keep well for things like stir fries ... I did one small batch today ....

Greay Amy, what could be better. Our peas are ready :). and the broad beans. I love eating everything raw.

When we pulled the carrots Amy, you could smell the flavour as they were lifted...I also love eating a lot of Veg raw, not spuds tho lol...

You will be picking them soon then Dawn , I love a stir fry with lots of fresh veg from the garden ..I can smell the carrots now Sue I like to rinse them under the tap then bite the young carrot off while still holding the furry foliage :o)

Hi Amy, had our first meal of new pots, peas and broad beans tonight .... Delicious, with gammon and mint sauce. :)

Snap Dawn !! we had Gammon broad beans peas and new Pots ..LOL ..great minds think alike ,we didn't have mint sauce though we had mustard ,then strawberries and cream , it tastes so much better when you have grown and picked it yourself dosn't it .. I bet your dad had a big grin on his face :o))

Awwww Amy. I hope he did ( tear in my eye). Guess what, we had strawberries and cream to follow too, lol. However, mine were Aldi strawberries - I must grow some next year.

If you have the time Dawn , you can't stretch yourself much further :o)

Dawn, if you buy your plants this year, you'll get a decent crop to pick for several deserts next year, we did this last year, and we're picking some lovely strawbs now..
