Papaver commutatum 'Ladybird'

Great photo Muddy, I thought we were getting sun this morning but it seems to have given up now.

I had these two years ago and they have all dissapeared

So did i, but there again us Northwest lot should be use to getting alot of rain, last year the south of England went weeks without rain but we had plenty, well Blackpool did :(

Remember it well Carol - my parents in Kent had Hay for a lawn and mine was a lush green field! :-(

Just checked the exif details Sticki and it was taken at 10 past 3 in the afternoon, so I guess I was just lucky with the position of the sun in that border. The background being in shadow helps too.

thats definitely a poppy in the spotlight!! as it deserves to be.

Lovely photo Muddy....I have a red Oriental Poppy similar to this...Soggy is the best word to describe the state of it....Im going to dig it out as its taking up a lot of space...Your photography is excellent Muddy...:>)
