I've had this Peony plant a few years now, and every year it produces just the one bloom. I've no idea what it's called, but it is a beauty....:))

I wonder if I'll ever get a bloom on mine! lol...every year I live in hope!

We wait in hope don't we Karen....I bought this the first year we came here off Ebay....it was supposed to be Bowl of Beauty, which it clearly isn't, but pretty just the same.....

It is so pretty, ours did not do well, more blooms, but very small, and some just rotted off.

I'm going to take mine out and plant something evergreen instead. I'm fed up waiting for it to flower and it never looks healthy. It's a waste of space really. I still have my lovely lemon tree peaony which I love, but tbh..paeonies..they are over in a flash aren't they...I like things that flower over a long time or give me some colour during the long winter...the 12 month winter!! lol

Agree Karen, a sound idea, what is the point in waiting years for a flash in the pan lol

I've been busy cutting back this afternoon Karen, and I've found all sorts that were hidden underneath plants that have flattened with the rain and have grown too vigourously....loads of valerian, out....lemon balm chopped down, perennial poppy cut back, shall dig it out another day, and so much aconite, definitely out in the Autumn. Like you I'd sooner have year round interest, and I do fancy more topiary........
Dd, yes it is a pretty one, but only one flower, I've a feeling this may come out too..lol!

Mines bitten the dust Janey, replaced with a Hebe 'Strawberries and Cream'.

That's my girl....positive planting! Love all Hebes Karen, though I've lost a few not too hardy ones in the winters....yours sounds to be a lovely one....I have a new in the spring Pascal out now....dark reddish stems and leaves with lavender flowers...only small as yet. Mum had an old (now gone) 6ft high Hebe in her shrubbery, wish Id taken a cutting. Also she has a white one with tiny leaves, makes a good evergreen shrub in winter, she shapes it into a cube.

Sounds lovely! This one has reddish leaves as well but no flowers yet. I haven't dared to plant any since the really bad winter until now....Annie sent me one, and this new one was on the sale table, so ....nothing ventured....;)
