It is quite spectacular, isn't it? Couldn't resist it...

I think that more and more white flowers open from the bracts...and they feel quite waxy.

You got it in one, Meanie...it can't cope with less than 3°C and would prefer not to go below 12°...so, it'll be on the window-sill in winter, I think.

Trust me to go buying all these tender plants in this one year which isn't having a summer!!!

Is it a shrimp plant ?
If so they grow in the wild in Teneriffe . They are unusual .

It's just mad here Meanie...
The days start off cold (like 12°), then it rains really heavily, then the sun comes out and we get 30°+ (for an hour or two)...then the temp drops to 18° or so, then it rains again...or hailstones even...

I've never seen anything like it in the nine years I've been here... :(
