Yes you can get white Christmas Cactus, and I had an orange one once ... but it died.
This looks like a new shoot rather than a bud :o) They are usually a pinky colour ...

OMGosh they are hywel! just looked and theres 4 or 5! really thought they were buds. well that make sense then cus im certain the flowers were white. yes repotting seems to have done the trick :o)
