Hmm - she's too busy blushing! Thanks for the clearer pic Lil - "Milkweed" is new to me, but I love it!

Just realised it does seem very like my Ammi majus . . . might try a pic tomoz :)

Only know it as that Sheila. Sorry.
You are right Pimp, the leaves are very much like carrots or parsley. Great sleuthing :)

I just Googled Milkweed to provide you with the proper name.....apparently this is NOT Milkweed :/
I deserve to lose my GoY membership :/
I will await the paperwork.

That is what I suspected Lil...Not that you should lose your membership..but that it was not a milkweed.

If we all got struck off for getting it wrong there would be very few GoYers. :))

It is still lovely...

Thank you for your compassion Pimp. I still should be punished in some way.......

Hi Lil, I think this might be Daucus carota (Wild Carrot, Queen Anne's Lace) have a look here -

:-))

I much prefer this name Mark, thank you!

'The botanical name is Daucus carota. This biennial is also commonly known as Wild Carrot, growing in dry fields, open places and roadsides. The plant was brought from Europe, and the carrots that we consume nowadays were cultivated from Queen Anne’s lace'

Hmmm, grows in dry fields....makes perfect sense then :)

Lol! I think our comments just passed each other on the wires Lil. I realised I omitted the Latin name so altered my post! ;-))

9 Jul, 2012

Destined to be ships passing in the night Mark ;)
No worries as I have a hard enough time with the common name, never mind remembering the latin name! :)

9 Jul, 2012

I did allude to this earlier Lil..... but you persisted. ;))

Make sure to photo the seed head they are awesome, like a ball of woodlice.

9 Jul, 2012

You should know by now that I don't pick up on subtleties Pimp....communicate like 'a brick' ;)))

9 Jul, 2012

If you Goy Search Daucus carota my photo will come up.
