i think this is definitely one of 'halelujah' plants, will grow anywhere in my garden, matforming but not invasive and a gorgeous pink too which blends in so well with most of my roses!

Can you grow spirea? I had it in my dry front garden in the city and it bloomed and blended well with the artemisia and yarrow...the pink of it's blossom was perfect counterpoint for the silvery/butteryellow artemisia and the white lacy yarrow and Queen Anne's Lace added highlights. Tucked some young peony plants a couple of years before we moved and it all just blended nicely with an Annabelle Hydrangea and Rose "therese bugnet".

Yarrow is amazingly tolerant of drought...it grows on roadsides here...and if given a well prepared bed it goes tall and lush...otherwise, it seems happy anywhere. Smells good when trodden on too, right?
