The Sorbus looks stunning but I refuse to have Autumn yet.
Sympathise with you Young DD - have same problem but the boiler is working. Still seems crazy to have to put it on in mid-July tho'.

Wonderful photo, Pims. I can't believe autumn is THAT close: when I saw it I thought you'd posted last year's picture. We have brown leaves and dead grass here, but that is heat and drought. I've been trying to germinate sorbus seeds for a few years now with absolutely zero success.
I only have to put one lot of washing out on the line, go into the house to make a cuppa tea, come out and everything is bone dry. The problem IS ironing in this heat - I dread it and have a spare bedroom full of stuff waiting to be done
Seriously, Sticki, we have bonfire night here tonight! No treacle toffee, though (What's treacle?). It's only a one-shop village, but every year there's a HUGE firework display, and thousands of people come from miles and miles around, and the crashes and whizzes and music echoes round the mountains. If we climbed out of the skylight up in the roof, we could see it all from our house, but, unfortunately, we have to climb 2 kilometres up the mountain for a really good view. We've all been praying that the Forestry people don't put the mockers on it because of the fire risk - this mountain has burnt before, and it's very, very scary. Normally the ban on outdoor fires doesn't go on until August, but this year it has been tinder dry for months.

My Mums philosophy on life . . . if it don't move - iron it!
I wonder how long before the birds descend on your Sorbus and devour the lot Pimp?
