sigh, RHS and Shoot! offered me pages and pages of plants, none of htem a rose. Eventually I ust put "Dortmund" in, and Shhot! found one, but a climbing rose that looks nothing like yours. Ah well.

Fran, this is about 60 cm high floribunda (hope I did not create a new English term, lol).

lol I'd probably get more info if I could speak German, but I had to opt for "English only" results in Google. - the Dortmund that only a couple of sites had was the climbing one, looked like a wild rose, just a few petals. that was said to be up to 2 metres, so it'd be worth considering for my arch, but it's still now what I was looking for.

I put the full name into search, Google wanted to put an umlaut over the "o" in "Schone" but neither Shoot! nor RHS recognised that, so i took it out and put a plain "o" in - and then got offered pates of plants that had nothing to do with roses!

Still, no doubt if I keep looking I'll find out more about it - there were plenty of "buy" sites, but the few "info" links were for the climber.

You have to check Schone with those double comas above O (I do not know where I have it on my keyboard). Mein Gott, das ist problem!
Will have to check, too.
