Alstromeria

Alstromeria

No idea which one - sorry. But it is such a stunning colour and has grown so tall - all that rain has done good.

It's fab...like the colour of duck egg yolks! I love the yellow alstros. Think I'll look for a paler lemon one for my front garden...they are such good performers!

I have never seen one for sale this colour (someone kindly donated this many moons ago) it is lovely and it has grown so tall with all the rain we have had it is now grown up into that boring Gary bush thingy.

Is this planted in the garden? Really beautiful color.

Lovely. Bought a pale yellow one just last week from Morrisons :). Kind of eases the boredom of grocery shopping. Was simply labelled Alstromeria.

Thank you for that Dawn. Now I really must go to Morrissons! :D

Thanks Karen, yes good result - our Morrisons have closed their garden centre house, shame xx :O(

Alex yes it is in a border up at the top end of the garden, growing like crazy.

I have seen those paler ones too Dawn, I bought a very dark red one last year I was hoping it would go as well as this one but it has been slow to get going, suppose all the cold wet weather we have had has stunted it a bit. :o(

Everything is behind here. My Forest Pansy tree thinks its May, as does my Nectaroscordum, which is still in full bloom ...it's been 'frozen' in time since the start of June! The blue mountain poppies are still coming out all the time as if they think it is early June, and the July bog plants...the Astilbes etc. are also in full flow. Everything at once. After a whole day of heavy rain yesterday, there is no chance at all of the grass getting cut, it's like a quagmire out there!

We had drizzle this morning but fine this afternoon, just cloudy the rest of the day. :o) hoping for better weekend though, sunshine forecast only one match on Saturday this weekend YAY!!!!

19 Jul, 2012

Yes, even our forecast looks a bit better this weekend! Saw the 'open' garden between heavy showers. It was lovely but everything totally rain damaged of course...except for the water plants!

I am sick of it now, it is drizzle again this morning after heavy downpour through the night. All the plants are waterlogged again. :O(((((

I thought I saw rain over you on the forecast Mum, but don't despair, all change tomorrow...sun, sun, sun!

20 Jul, 2012

It has teemed it down all day, but I saw that we should get sun tomorrow, but do not think they forecast it so heavy rain as we are now getting. Cricket tomorrow so I shall not be here to appreciate the sun, shame shame shame! Good for the boys though. lol. Just hope it is dry enough for them to play, think it will be, it drains fairly well at Everton. Sandy soil, thought about taking on an allotment behind Paul's garage at the ground but decided, whilst I am doing cricket teas still, it is a step too much. So passed it on to someone else. Hope I can pick one up another year when I have finished cricket tea making and baking. I think though I need two new knees before that lol. and maybe a new back or some new muscles and a bit less fat on the btm.

I am next on the waiting list here! Me and a friend's OH are going to 'share' it. He is about 18 stone and about 6'3" so I'm not worried! ;)

lol :O)

One of mine grows like a weed in the border, and a good hack back does it no harm...lovely colour Barbara...

25 Jul, 2012

:o) I like it when they grow madly in the borders saves me buying more plants that way, which is all good for the bank balance. lol.
