Thanks At and TT, I have 2 and as they were very big last year and did not flower that well, about 12 years old. I cut them right back to the ground. So very pleased at the flowering this year.

the mixture of the pink and white and the tiny flowers is lovely

Do you have this shrub planted in full sun or in part shade ? (weather permitting... Lol. )

I have one in full sun TT, and the other one is directly under my Plum nigra tree in quite a lot of shade and both flower equally well.

It has always surprised me TT, how well it flowers in shade.

I have a spiraea japonica (pic on my current blog) but I'm not sure of the variety... gets a bit of shade mid-day.

Just had a look and I would say its a Spiraea japonica possibly 'Little Princess' TT.
