Diascia 'Blue Denim'

Diascia 'Blue Denim' (Diascia)

This is a hardy Diascia, and an unusual colour, too.

I have several hardy ones now. The one by the front gate has been there for three flowering seasons now. I inherited some, too - pretty pink ones. They're taller than the ones you get for bedding - no idea what their name is.

I have Diascia vigilis too - I've been trying to get a decent photo of it, but it's very tall and won't stay still for me! LOL.

How lovely Barbara, think I will have to get some for next year, I have the annual ones at present and they are putting on a great show, is there a white hardy one? ;0)

I forgot to say - the one doing the best is D. personata, but that's a pink one. One of my white ones in a sheltered corner has survived. If they stay dry-ish over the winter, that makes all the difference. I can't say it'd be hardy everywhere, though.

Lovely pic Spritz, my blue denim have survived too even with all this rain, but are buried somewhere beneath overgrown plants, giantised by all the rain. I was going to ask you about personata as will be buying some if they are hardy. I noticed that you weren't sure about them on another pic so glad they've come through:-)

Thanks, Dd. :-)

Ba - not very successful this year. I was a bit disappointed at the size of the flower stems, although the colour is lovely. Not enough sun, I'd say. :-((

Maybe next year, and they'll be mature then too. I did see your Cymbeline at GWL NEC, unusual pink, but not like Darling Sue which I will have next year and she will have ginormous flowers:-)))
