The border under the kitchen window was looking a little tired. One of the acers (discussed previously) had died so that had to come out and so I took the opportunity to raise the border a bit. To save on expensive top soil I bulked it up using cheap logs normally for firewood which will hopefully rot down over time but give a great boost to the height of the border without using soil.
