Euphorbia ammak - African Candelabra

I really do like these cactus type Euphorbia Delonix.

Most likely. There's hundreds of Euphorbia species and varieties!

It looks like this one...does the new growth have leaf-like structures on the new shoots? it's starting to branch out too... likes the hot greenhouse environs. will post a progress pic.

There's so many cactus-like Euphorbia species. I can almost bet the one you have wasn't this one. This plant doesn't grow well indoors. Euphorbia ammak doesn't have any leaves. Its stems are actually variegated.

Most likely you have E. trigona...it commonly grown as a house plant. I can get grow to about 20ft/6m tall in the ground...in many years.

Thanks D1. It's loving the greenhouse at present...hope I can keep it well enough over the winter.

I know E. trigona doesn't tolerate very cold temps. Maybe a brief exposure to 28ºF (-2ºC) will not hurt it.

I will be sure to bring it in when our night temps dip toward the negatories...don't want to take any chances!
