Beautiful flowers ... I have just emptied a big pot of Sweet Peas as they were struggling ... then found the bottom of the pot and the polystyrene chunks within were home to Ants and their eggs ... :o(((

As if I would dare! ... I read, after I'd planted up the huge pot, of course, that a J- cloth placed over the drainage holes deters ants ... but will I remember to do that next year? ... doubt it! :o)

Yes you would !! Lol...and funny you should mention the J cloths,Shirley..I did try that tip in all my pots this year..so any ants I see are usually running around the rims..maybe it has worked...I won't know till I empty them though ..I'll let you know :o)

Thank you Paul, Lulu and Karen. Glad you like them. As you say Karen, sooooooo late. Can't remember when I put them in, I think that was probably late too. Sometimes if I put them in early, they don't do anything till it warms up anyway. Just slug fodder, so this year, I left it late. Of course, then we didn't have any sun................gardening eh? Jx

How did I miss this? I love sweet peas, the scent is summer in a breath, and unfortunately, we can't grow them here. Big drawback. The roses, though, are gorgeous, and I've taken a note of the name......... :o)

Hi Jan. It's a beautiful rose. It's a David Austin one, from my trip there last year. Fab day out. Jxx

Your rose looked like a Peony, It is beautiful...I have not had any luck with sweet peas, Isn't that pathetic. do they like a semi-shade with some sun? The rain is bouncing off the newly oiled table. It looks so happy. We have had 9 thunderstorms this week and it's only WED. Garden a green jungle. Love your pics.
