I'm going to find out this winter, Meanie. The last two winters it spent in a pot in the basement. It seemed to struggle along and I felt bad for it. Decided that if it could survive outdoors in the previous garden it will survive here (with a bit of care).

Why not lift one of the pups as insurance?

Looking good and a heir and a spare as well. Heatwave here in England last 3-4 days. Temps 85-90f in shade. Not good for us oldies. Tires me out and swells my feet. Managed to do colour pencil work on an animal picture and hose- water the pot plants early on before heat built up......that's all. Water colour no good in this heat and pencilwork easier as waxes softer.

I have noticed this, Amy! :-) I will dig the pups up and bring them in for winter as he suggests!
Oh I'm sorry to hear that you've gone from one weather extreme to the other,Dorjac. Our temps have moderated...thank goodness, and we have had more precip at long last. Not back to normal but better than drought. In the very hot weeks I find getting up at about 5:30 a.m helps me get thro my tasks before the heat becomes oppressive...then I'm ready for a little siesta during the hottest part of the day..then up and about for the evening shift. We have only so many days above zero in this country, so summer days are precious. love them all come rain or shine...but can't take the extreme heat. as you say...it tires me out and makes my feet swell! Envy you the gumption to work on your pictures in the heat...I haven't lifted a brush for almost a year! don't know where the dry period came from. Maybe next month with the autumn almost upon us, I'll find some inspiration.
