Thanks Amy. It was a bare-root done up in plastic outside the ironmongers and looked rather sad.....and it didn't do much for the first couple of years. It's making up for lost time!

I have a rose in the garden that I had almost forgotten that hasn't flowered yet , I turned it's label over today and guess what it's called 'Compassion ' I'm very much looking forward to seeing it bloom like yours Penny :o)

Well, I really hope it does, Amy, even if you have to wait a year or two!

It's been in one year so perhaps with luck next year it will be blooming :o)

Oh, beautiful roses
To please our noses
And make beautiful posies!
My goodness, I seen to have come over all lyrical! lol. Is this that lovely rose you recommended to me, Penny called 'Open Arms'?? (I see you have the fence and posts in the background as I have now along my boundary....so there's hope for my garden yet! Michelle x

No Dixie, Open Arms has a much smaller scented bloom and is a more prolific bloomer. It keeps its shiny foliage longer and although it grows like Topsy, it is well behaved and is easy to tie in and prune.
