Poppies

I had to pull a lot out last year ,It was a shame ,I like them but they were taking over

I haven't got to that stage yet, Amy. I'm just so pleased to see them in odd corners. Luckily they only seed about, so will be quite easy to pull up if ever I need to. It's not like my beautiful but wicked poppy which had spread by running its roots all along the border and is the very devil to curb!

I have never seen a yellow poppy, but this is gorgeous and like the rich yellow of buttercups.

Hi Dixie, these poppies are more commonly a lighter yellow but some of them come up almost orange.
