Thanks Carole - yes he passes through from time to time although I've never seen him catch anything in my garden.
PS. My Geranium 'Blue Sunrise' is doing really well - will post a photo soon :-))

Really good pic muddy. Several sparrows taken this year in our garden by the sparrow hawk, but only saw feathers and bits left didn't see the kill. Beautiful bird to see close to.

Thanks Dorjac, I think it's always a thrill to see 'top of the food chain' animals - whether it's a bird of prey, a Stoat or Weasel, a Tiger or a Shark.
(Not that you get many of the last two in Southport!)

I read somewhere recently that it's a complement to your conservation type gardening if they pay regular visits. All our sparrows have done a bunk after the last SH raid. Tits gold and green finches on the feeders but very few sparrows. Hope they are just moulting!!!!
