Swelling up a bit, but I lost a couple of the smaller ones to slugs I think, hmm what to do??

the golden one grows to the size of a grapefruit!!!! you might need a crash helmet!!!!

ah its the normal orange fruit i think, which sits in the palm of your hand. I think its needs to be pretty hot for the fruit to be good else its a bit insipid. However, hopefully get some seed and use the pulp in some....chutNEY!!! : )

Did it produce decent fruit in the end?

I have a few this year, they went orange but i left them on and they have gone a bit soft. to be honest I am not sure these ones can be eaten now but hey I just like the look of them. I'll have to reseach more.
I think you pick them just as they have changed colour and are still hardish then let them soften

As I understand it, if you eat them before they're fully ripe they're mildly toxic. There are some species that are just toxic (not the common UK growing ones though). Just my understanding though......................
