Beautiful colour.

It certainly is Dwyllis, so pleased with it. :O)

It is fab. Mine flowered earlier and has not grown much since. I hope it sends out a second flush as the first ones were ruined by rain.

i think this must be my alltime favorite rose. i have her climbing up one of the terrace pillars, and in the shade for most of the day as she is one of the few which actually tolerate it.
her colour and her blooms are just utter perfection and that smell!!
mine does repeat but not very strong, her first flowering probably wears her out, it is so prolific ;-))

Oh that sounds so nice, this one is new to me and obviously will get better with age, I hope. lol :O) Post a picture for me to look at please Resi. :O) would love to see it in full flower or maybe you have already. thanks :O)

i've just put them on.
8 Sep, 2012
I find it is susceptible to mildew, but a spray or two sorts it out.
8 Sep, 2012
Thanks Resi and Karen. I will keep an eye out for the mildew, got my spray in already, just in case. I have never used sprays much in the garden, but had to use one to control the greenfly this year on the roses. I do not like using chemicals but no way was I losing those flowers to the little perishers. :O)
9 Sep, 2012
I didn't have any greenfly problems this year. The weather kept washing them away!

I am still getting the little horrors down here, it has been a lovely few weeks of weather for us. (sorry) think it is about to change though. Cold very cold forecast from Tuesday for a few days at least. :O(

They are saying snow on the hills up here!
9 Sep, 2012
Oh goodness me that will be early, did see it had already chilled up there on the forecast and did you get all that rain they said would come?
10 Sep, 2012
Not yet......Wednesday is set to be a wash-out and Scott has booked golf at Edzell with a friend.....:( They will tough it out he says, but not much of a 'treat' in my book!
10 Sep, 2012
Nor mine! lol :O) He will cope as you know what Paul says. lol
10 Sep, 2012
Yes, and he's quite right!

Is this one of the new batch of Roses from the end of last year B....It sure has a lovely velvet sheen, very nice...
11 Sep, 2012
Yes Crissue it is one of the many lol. only one has failed to grow so I suppose I have been lucky. Think the situation is the problem with the sickly one, although it has got a sprut showing on it now. I am going to move it and see if it fairs better eleswhere. I love this one it is a gorgeous colour deep red and velvety and of course perfumed. lol.

had a look on my souvenir just now and it does have another bud swelling on it!
11 Sep, 2012
oh that is good. x
11 Sep, 2012
Yes, sunny but cool and windy here today. Got loads done out there, in spite of being cream-crackered after staying up to watch tennis. Only managed three sets then fell asleep to had to 'retire'!
11 Sep, 2012
I did not see it, not on my tv. lol. I would have loved to have seen it. He must have been a little cream-crackered too, 5 hours of tennis. Wow - What a star well done Andy Murray. :O))))))
11 Sep, 2012
Yes, it was an incredible match. The two of them play very similar tennis, so it was quite a contest!
12 Sep, 2012
A real slug fest Karen, it was a fantastic Match...There is a homecoming being held in Dunblane this morning for Andy...and he's got his Gold Pillar Box too...so pleased for him, and so proud of all the the 2012 competitors...
