Red Admiral

Red Admiral

Basking in the sun on Echinacea. Stayed there for ages but if I had got any closer I would have blocked out the sun and I didn't want to chase it away.

Lovely to see these now, isn't it? Saw more butterflies last week than I have all Summer.

It sure is Sheila - the weather hasn't half taken a turn today though? It's bitter outside this afternoon!
So perhaps this was the last!

We put an extra downie on the bed during the night as it got very cold and the ch was on this am. I was worried in case we had had a frost but nothing seems to be amiss in the garden. We are going to Inchcolm on Sunday so I hope the wind moderates before then.

That will be a nice trip out. Are you going for something special or just the boat trip?
I hope it eases a bit for you and brightens up too!
We have the girls for the weekend and as yet not planning on doing much. Michaela just wants me to bring her bike along so she can show her friends she doesn't need her stabalisers now! I want some black pebbles for the garden so may take them down to the beach if it isn't too cold. She just moans if it is!

On Saturday there is the Fife Flower Show at Dobbies Garden Centre. Its one of the best shows in Scotland with exhibitors coming from all over. Its 11 to 6pm on Sat. and 9 to 5pm on Sunday. On Sunday the trip was a gift from my daughter for our wedding anniversary. Scottish Heritage own Inchcolm Abbey and we can spend an hour and a half on shore and have a picnic if the weather is reasonable. She and my OH have visited lots of times when sailing out of Port Edgar but I have never been so Sunday it is, fingers crossed. Its great when they can leave the stabilisers off. Well done Michaela. She is not alone I moan when its cold too.

Its the newish one in Duloch Park. Easiest way to get to it is to go up to the roundabout for Halbeath on the M9. You will see the Amazon warehouse on the left just before the turn off. You take the first left after you leave the traffic lights at the top of the slip road, then it is off the second roundabout after that. There is another Dobbies which has been there for years down in Dalgety Bay. I'll be taking my camera with me because there are lots of cactus classes. Hywel would love them.
