Temps are moving to the autumn normal...near freezing at night with warm days. Only 14 C. today though...cold wind but bright sunshine. Have had frost which served to alert me to "frost pockets" on the property. Touch wood...none of the exposed spots are near my flower beds. Last year I lost my dahlias the first week of Sept. and then we had a lovely indian summer... Should have been more informed about the possibility of frost. This year I'll do better.

no frost at night here yet but around 6C, so wellcome, daytime still over 30C. Soil still deepcracks, pond as good as dried out, grass non existant, trees shutting down, do i keep watering?? autumn roll on....

I'm sorry to hear that you are still waiting for moisture. We usually have a very sunny October but Nov. is wet, dark and dreary. Our watertable has dropped such that we are still keeping track of our water usage, even now. Hopefully we will have a week or so of rain...we really need that much to bring things back to almost normal. Can't imagine what the Maple sap run will be like next spring. The trees are showing signs of stress, leaves falling already.
