Pachypodium lamerei - Madagascar Palm

Pachypodium lamerei - Madagascar Palm (Pachypodium lamerei - Madagascar Palm)

Many Madagascar palms are blooming very profusely this year throughout San Diego. They love the intense heat we've been getting this summer. Photo taken at Quail Botanical Gardens on Sept. 4, 2012.

Plumeria, Adenium (Desert Rose) and Mandevilla are in the same family (Apocynaceae).
