This beautiful 2 m high tree is now on my balcony, but I have to think hard where to put it for the winter...

Katarina, can you wrap it in a burlap and leave it there?
That is what is being done here for tender plants. Is your balcony covered?

Hi Klahanie,
no, my balcony is opened to the south and protected for the northeast. I have one Cypress from Italy planted in my garden, it survived perfectly this winter frosts minus twenty, so I am just curious, if this one wouldn´be better to plant, then to leave in a pot. Do you think burlap will be enough in minus twenty?

A burlap will not save it in that temperature if it last for long time, Katarina. We can get it cold here but not for a long time.
I was under the impression that you do not have it -20 most of the winter , do you? If you do, then your idea to plant it is probably a good solution. Would be shame to loose it.

Oh yes, recent winters were dry and very cruel. Minus 20 Celsius lasted this year for almost 6 weeks.
