Very large stinking fungus...

Still trying to find it on the internet. It is huge...about six inches across the cap, stands about six inches tall. Smells like carrion.

I've been looking for this one for a week now...not having any luck. I'm sure it's not a boletus, it doesn't have gills, and the stylus is like swiss cheese! a very strange something-or-other! have emailed a pic to a "mushroom expert" but no response yet.

Hi Lynda...It started out looking like a nice clean mushroom but as it ripened it looked like putrifying liver and smelled like it too! The slugs loved it... still can't find a name for it.
