I would call it: Reflective.

It is marble and I think it is Michelangelo´s work as he made the whole basilic. I am suspicious, that this is Archangel Gabriel, the only one with feminine spirit among seven archangels. That guy on the photo spoiled my intention for nice perspective behind the statue as he was still shuffling around me.Kasia@ why would you call it reflective?

oh, just have a closer look at the statue's face. Sort of absent minded, drifting somewhere in the clouds, probably thinking of nice things from his teenage years? Memories of seeing Aphrodite coming from the sea? lol

I don´t know, Kasia, lol. This is archangel, no man, no woman. Hardly will think of a naked woman. More it is expression of restrainted optimism when meeting arriving crowds of penitents...:)

Beautiful piece of work here. Although it reminds me of the angels in Dr. Who as well.
