Lower Garden, at the Last

Lower Garden, at the Last

The lower garden and gate midsummer, basking in the morning glow that was priceless here in this garden. I moved the gate and fence, though still not assembled. Those hot buzzing mornings, ah, like a dream.

are you right out in the country greenthumb? no cars no roads?

It is large lots against the wood, but the road fronts the garden. And there was plenty of traffic c here. I just moved and now am at the end of a lane, much more woods and no traffic. I don't like the look of the road and avoid shots with it in it. :-)

your garden always looks so lovely out in the middle of nature, i cant believe you have a road so near. i live on a main road and i hate it.

I was on the main road although this back section was very natural, that is why all the garden views are focused this direction. I gardened without my glasses so I could phaze out the traffic presence. And this main section of garden is just beyond a bank, so it is more private. I just moved though, now on a very private drive set in the woods on the hill. I haven't got many pics up yet. I do not miss the traffic of the main road, not the least.

Hi Greenthumb, glad you like the more tranquil position of where you are. This looks lovely. Hope you get on alright when the bad weather hits, I suppose you have a large freezer.

Thank you Lindak. I haven't yet tried out the long sharp rise of the driveway, but the snow has arrived, and in full force. -3C average right now.

What transport do you use for the winter Greenthumb?

My car, small SUV. I'll have to add a set of tire chains for those times this new driveway may present. My all wheel does very well for me.

I wondered if you have a ski mobile for emergency driving if the snow was very thick.

Many people have snow machines, very common really. I've never had the need. Fourwheelers and such are very common in summer. Most common use is recreation, for both, long trips off road into the country, mechanical bushwhacking. A real controversy with cross country skiers, too noisy and fast and the track rips up good skiing trails. I keep skies for recreation but don't mind the machines, most times but I prefer none.
