Can anyone confirm that my acer is a Bloodgood' Im not sure what the variety is but I'm sure someone could help me out with this. I think its a wonderful colour right now I just love looking out at it, its moved house with us 3 times but it looks really happy and at 'home' here.

I think Bloodgood might be a darker red from memory, but I might be mistaken. Whatever it is, it is beautiful.

I do think that it is a Bloodgood. It is the right color for this time of the year. Leaves are darker in the summer as Dwyllis noted. I have couple of them and Emperor1 which is really an "improved" Bloodgood". More vibrant crimson red than the Bloodgood but I only see the difference in the fall, in the summer they look the same.
The one in your picture is gorgeous, Canna. I will have to wait few more years before I get it to this stage.
