It poured down when I was there in July, but it meant I had the place to myself. Love the intimacy of these garden rooms.

Yes, I think it was a great day for pictures. The colours were stronger. There was also a woodlandy walk I saw, packed with white Astrantia. Beautiful.

Wow, love the topiary, hedging has really appreciated all the rain this year....about the only thing that has...lol!

You're spot on Janey. Topiary has thrived and my hedge has needed constant attention (not that I'm obsessed about trimming it.....much).

lol...that hedge! The trees in my garden have enjoyed the rain also...can't believe how much they've grown this year, especially the magnolia 'Heaven Scent' which is now up to about 4m. I think I shall be up a ladder in the winter, pruning, unless it keeps raining like this and I can't get out there!

I always think white flowers work best against an evergreen backdrop. This is fantastic! I bet it looks better in this rainy light than it would in full sun...
