My Golden Finger bananas just bloomed a couple of weeks ago. These are very sweet, yummy bananas. Photo taken Oct. 15, 2012.

This is nothing. I have a huge bunch of Ice Cream bananas almost ready to ripen in the front yard. The bunch probably weighs 80 lbs. (36 kg).

No, not bragging...this is just typical for here in San Diego. Some people have much larger bunches of bananas than me. :>)

Yes, home-grown bananas are typically a lot sweeter than store bought bananas.

I will never know unfortunately........I am growing a Musella lasiocarpa Chinese lotus banana, but although it flowers we will not have the bananas.

I am familiar with Musella lasiocarpa. It's a very nice ornamental.

It doesn't grow very tall; from what I remember.
