Softwood grows very fast... we have colony of small fir growing under the tall golden birch and maples on the north facing ridge...you can see marked differences in them from year to year.

See who else has plants in genus Abies.
They are tall , we have recently had the tree surgeon in to take down some conifers along our border .......
