Anigozanthos flavidus - Dwarf Kangaroo Paw Plants

Gorgeous. I had two seedling growing nicely.......they look all brown now.

You can take cuttings from portions of the plant. It must be very widely grown there, also. I'm guessing?

I'm assuming that the fact that we got naff all sun here this year upset my poor seedlings!

This plant loves sun, heat and dry. This is why it grows so commonly everywhere here in most of California.

It's one of the trickier ones from seed - I lost several when small.

I would think the secret is to keep the soil on the dry side.

That seems to be the pattern Delonix..............

The ones that are planted here don't seem to get any water at all (and that's 8 months with no water).

That's a little harder to gauge with a seedling though!

Yes, and the ones here are planted in the ground from potted plants.

Hopefully we get a warm summer......will keep it on the dry side, after reading these comments.....

They typically are planted in a sunny spot in a very dry situation for them to grow their best. I'll have to take some photos of some here. I don't take pics of very common plants. I forget the common plants here are not common in other areas of the world.
