No protection for mine Amy they have been there for several years now so I think they are fairly hardy here, they are always start slowly in the spring but make up for it late summer :o)

I can confirm it is hardy. I've had mine for over 15 years now and it never has any winter protection. In fact I had to divide it this spring because it was doing too well.

That's nice to know Andrew , Thanks , is spring the best time to lift and move them as I have 4/5 plants scattered and would like to bring them together as one nice clump ?

From experience, I've found this needs a good sunny position and some moisture in the soil to get the best colouring.

Andrew says it needs a sunny position and some moisture for good colour, this one is in a south facing position and moisture wasn't been a problem last year lol :o)))

This is a beautiful colour ,mine is still going strong , do you protect yours in the winter Ph , I have read they can be tender ,I didn't cover mine last year they survived but were late to start growing ......
