Must have been quite an achievement in it's time, especially getting the hole in the glass the right size for the sand to trickle through and the right amount of sand to actually make the eight hours.

Lindak@This sandglass is a new thing, nothing antique. I think, the advantage of this marketing labelling (8 hour time measure) is, that buyer usually doesn´t have time to test it, lol.
But - I think such sunglass would be suitable for offices.

Long time ago my mother had an egg timer of little dimensions compared with this one.....LOL.

Oh yes, I remember them, too. There were sunglasses for washing teeth, for boiling eggs etc. I think it was fashionable some 30 years ago.
