It reminds me of Valotta. My grandmother had a big one, and after she died I took it.

Klahanie: Its the pic of last year...here in india it flowers in hot summer, mostly in May...
Its bulb is sown in winter.

Ya Janey...i hav a garden book. As u said the two names are mentioned differently... Most of the features are matching with amaryllis. Amaryllis is right i think.
