Ribes cutting taken last autumn ' White Icicle '

Wow, that's amazing...a flower! Lovely form of Ribes too!....Hmmm...you've got me thinking...white ribes for the sunnier part of my shade garden?.....Hmmmm!

Thats strange seeing a flower on this little cutting Amy. Do you think you should take the flower off to put more strength into the plant?

The parent shrub is beautiful when in full bloom Karen , I hadn't thought of that Rose , I wonder if anybody else will think so, perhaps I should put it on the questions and answers page !

Lovely Amy, my baby one is doing well by the shelter of the wall.....I'm hoping it may have one or two blossoms come early spring, it's my favourite Ribes....:))

A good healthy plant, and Rose is correct it may help it to grow stronger without the flower.....

Yes, I was afraid to say that, didn't want to rain on your parade! I hate removing flowers from anything but in the case of babies it is a good idea.

Thanks Angela / Karen I will be very brave and remove the flower ,how sad but worth it if it makes the plant stronger !! I gave one of these cuttings to a friend a few weeks ago he called this morning to say he has a flower on his as well ....

How lovely! I decided against it in the end....too much shade and not enough space!

They do need quite a space Karen ,as much as we would like to have everything we have to make sensible choices don't we !
