I went out in the howling gales today to pour a kettle full of water on the frozen birdbath. It had just started snowing again and I came across these beauties. They're growing in one of the clematis pots on my little red patio and were planted last spring and flowered all summer. They gave me a little lift as it's horrible here and freezing for the last two days. The wind has hardly let up for what seems like forever:-)

Hi Scottish and Driad, let's just hope for a nice spring and summer, if it's anything like last year I'm turning my garden into a bog garden:-(

They really are lovely aren't they. I've got to get someone in to power wash my slabs, they look horrendous. I'm amazed how putting bird food out seems to stain them too. I did order a new bird table and when it arrived (without instructions) I thought I would have a go at putting it together. Unfortunately it hadn't been pre drilled in all the places where it should and my drill has gone walkies, but I wouldn't have been able to manage it even if I could find it.. I was so fed up. The company, Capital Gardens in London were most unhelpful saying the table parts weren't supposed to be pre drilled! and I could send it back for £30! The table cost £59 and is lying in the garage:-( I don't seem to have any redress:-( Moan over:-))

Oh blimey! some company's are really unhelpful, don't you know anyone with a drill, that would do it for you. Too expensive to be lying in the garage, can't understand the logic behind not pre drilling, if you've got to put screws in DUH !!

I just went on a review site which I wish I had seen before I bought from them. They have terrible reviews.... and one new one too lol. They were lying about the drilling and instructions, they just didn't care once they had the money. I will eventually ask someone for help with it:-)

I hope you put a review on BA for other gardeners to be aware of!

Yes I did:-)

What a shame , Ba !
Sometimes the local press advertise people who will put up "flat-packs "; what about the local allotment organisers ? They would surely know someone to help you .
Nil desperandum .
(OH has tapped into YouTube this pm and he's just got Shenia Twain on , absolutely bril .)

Lol Driad, did you have a little dance?:-) I have a feeling that when it is all drilled and screwed, it will not be very stable as the base seems a bit small for the heavy top .... I'll have to use sand bags lol, very pretty:-))

Yes , and he also found Tina Turner , Chuck Berry to name a few , we did enjoy . ( His music clock has not progressed much beyond the '70's , I'm afraid !)
The sand bags will stop the floods anyway , Ba .
