These are shirley poppies
from seeds which were
scattered around the garden.

No, but I do take some photos like this one, early morning and into the sun. If you can get yourself and camera in the shade but take the flowers with the light behind them it can turn out quite good, and outline the plants, and make the petals more vivid, especially on delicate thin flowers. See what you think.

did you say they were shirley poppies? hopefully i have lots of poppy seeds all over the garden by now ~ i love them. got loads of photos of them too ~ find them irresistable.

Yes Sticki....they were a packet of seeds I'd forgotten about...there were some really pretty pale pink ones with dark edges....:o)
