My daff bulbs only just showing through, it is amazing how much difference in zones there is. Lovely to see them, so bright and so cheerful. Thank you :o)

i am surprised they grow for you at all Delonix...i always thought they needed a winter frost...i learn so much on here. do you have them in your garden?

Daffodils can be left in the ground all year and will come out in the middle of winter and flower. The one bulb I absolutely love and cannot grow is: tulips!

I've tried tulips so many times. Tulips cannot be left in the ground it doesn't get any where near the chilling requirements it needs to grow or bloom here in San Diego. We need to lift them and put them into a refrigerator here.

I've left tulips bulbs in the ground in the past and they grow so completely deformed, not looking anything like a tulip.

i have bought so many tulips....all sorts of colours but they all end up yellow...but at least they come back...

I bet they look wonderful! I fell in love with tulips during my first trip to the Netherlands, many years ago. They were everywhere and gorgeous (this is when I lived in the San Francisco Bay Area). Even the San Francisco Bay Area's weather is still too mild to keep tulips in the ground all year.
