Brabant foal!

Brabant foal!

He was meant to be a guest but was bullied by a fellow foal half his size. Sad, it meant that he had to go back home! This black foal will one day plough the fields, harrow and clear bracken. He will also remain a full horse and father a whole herd of working horses. Isn't he a beauty.

Thanks all he is such a powerful youngster...still only 6 months old!
I agree with that one Hywel. When I asked at the farms veg shop what kind of horse was he they said Braeburn. I said I don't think so, that's an apple! Did you see Martin Clunes's programe on the heavy working horse? It was lovely.

I had a book, horses of the world, there were some great Heavy Horses, but for me the Shire is the cream, so beautifully proportioned, so gentle in nature. lol of course some other breeds run it close! and there's the Suffolk Punch as well as others I can't remember at the moment
